Over Fifty Years of Providing Communication Construction Services in Ohio
Our telecommunication construction operation in Ohio began way back in 1958, when Kenneth G. Myers and his wife, Kathryn Myers, teamed up with Ron Rowe and a group of friends to form a contracting company for pipelines. Initially, the work included installing and repairing gas service lines for Columbia Gas in Ohio. Throughout the 1960’s the company continued to thrive, replacing surface cable with buried cable in large parts of rural Ohio. The company continued to undertake telephone cable construction in Ohio, expanding and innovating in the 1960’s with the invention of a “ripper” that made the process of underground cable laying quicker and simpler.
Established Telecommunications Contractor in Ohio
Adapting to the challenges that fiber optic cable introduced, the company began to install this new type of cable across Ohio and Michigan. When Kathryn passed away, KG Myers continued to trade successfully under the leadership of Kenneth E. Myers, with Ron Rowe taking on the vice-president's role. During the 1980’s, employee numbers swelled to over a hundred.
